MOC: Technic Spitfire WIP Part 5

Another update. Finally...

Yes it's been over a month since my last update but I now should have all the pieces to finish it. Progress should hopefully be a bit quicker now.

I've replaced the wheels to a slightly bigger pair as the other ones where a bit to small. I quite like the look of these. I've also added a bit more to the wings.

I've improved the tail a bit as well so it's now a bit stronger.

I've also added a bit more to the rear elevators.

The cockpit windscreen has finally been added.

And finally an overall picture of my progress. I'm also planning on motorising the landing gear if I can fit the M motor in which I should be able to do.

MOC: Technic Spitfire WIP Part 4

Just a small update today. I've worked a bit more on the rear section where the elevators and rudder are going to go and I've added the tail wheel as well.

I've also done the landing gear. Hopefully It will stand up to the weight.

Landing gear up.
Landing gear down.
And finally the overall progress so far.

MOC: Technic Spitfire WIP Part 3

Another update today. Been working on it quite a bit the past couple of days so I've got quite a bit done. First I added the main section of the tail and started work on the elevator and rudder section.

I've also changed the engine section quite a bit as well. With the M motor powering the engine and propeller it wasn't going as fast as I would have liked so I decided to swap out the M motor with a XL motor and gear it up a bit more. The speed is much better now. Also because of the extra power it has now I'm going to have to control it via the variable speed IR controller.

Finally a overall shot of my progress. Not sure where I'm going to put this when I've got the wings on.

MOC: Technic Spitfire WIP Part 2

Got around to adding a bit more to this. I've added the main part of the control system in and strengthened the body a bit as well. The control system is a slightly modified version of the one I used in my Fully controllable Aeroplane. It works well enough so should be ok.

And here is a picture of my overall progress.

MOC: Technic Spitfire WIP Part 1

This is the beginning of my latest LEGO project, A motorised Technic Supermarine Spitfire. I'm going to try and pack as many functions into it as possible such as the rudder, elevator and ailerons all controlled from the cockpit, motorised engine (Also controlled from the cockpit) and working landing gear (Hopefully). Here's my progress so far.

As you can see I've done the very front section which also includes the engine. I still need to figure out how to attach the wings as well as how to do the landing gear. I'll leave you with a few more pictures:

MOC: Unfinished TT inspired truck

Been a while since I've posted a new LEGO MOC but I finally got round to taking some pictures (And a video) of my latest one.

It has pendular suspension at the front but no suspension at the rear. It has working lights at the front and a working fake V12 engine mounted in the middle. It also has a two way gear box that either goes to the engine or to the back however it isn't actually connected to anything, now you see where the "Unfinished" part came from. As for the reason well I just ran out of pieces. It would have be cool to put my motorised railgun on there but I definitely don't have enough pieces for that.

The front suspension is from here:

Couldn't have made it without that suspension design. Thank you Sariel.  :)

On to the pictures:

And thats it. Thanks for reading.

A blast from the past, Some of my older MOCs, Part 4

This time we will take a look at some of my older Technic MOCs. I seem to have quite a few that I haven't posted here so I thought I'd post them in this "series" along with my other old MOCs.

First up is my AP40 Half-Track:

This was one of the larger Technic MOCs I've made which used two battery boxes, two XL motors, two M motors and two IR receivers. This was I think the only Technic MOC I've made that uses two battery boxes and two XL motors as one of the battery boxes and one of the XL motors are from my 8275 Motorized Bulldozer. I try not to do that any more as it takes to much work to be honest.

This is one of the many MOCs I've made that I want to build again but a lot better. This one would be one of the hardest to do mainly because of the tracks but one day hopefully.

Next up is my AP12X Monster Truck:

It may not seem it but this is possibly one of the most influential Technic MOCs I've made as it really was the start of the way I now make the bodies for my Technic vehicles. Before this I used LEGO bricks for the body which made the model heavier as well as bulkier compared to using plates.

It was also the start of me trying out different designs for suspension without using the actual suspension parts that LEGO make. I'll be honest it really didn't work very well but it was the beginning of how I build vehicle bodies now so that's something right?

Right I think we'll leave it there for today. On the current MOCs front I still haven't decided what to make next, I have a idea for a MOC but I'm not sure whether I'll be able to make it yet... In any case see you next time.
