MOC: Motorised railgun

Hello all. Well I finally got round to taking some pictures of my latest Technic MOC, A motorised railgun. It was mostly inspired by the railgun on Metal Gear Rex from the MGS series. It uses a XL motor to rotate the platform a full 360 degrees and a M motor to move the railgun up and down. It also has a couple of PF lights for the railgun barrel. I quite like the way the actual railgun looks but that's just me. Not much else to say about this one really, On with the pictures:

And a video of it:

And that's it. Hoe you liked it and I'll see you next time.

A blast from the past, Some of my older MOCs, Part 3

Hello again and welcome to part 3 of a look back at some of my older MOCs. You know in a sense it's a shame that I didn't take any pictures of the MOCs I made before all these, On the other hand maybe it's a good thing. In any case lets take a look at a couple more.

First up this time is the AP50 Super Battleship:

The whole idea behind this one was to basically make a really long spaceship which at around 4ft long I think I succeeded on that front. With it being a Super Battleship I thought it appropriate to arm it well and with 6 main guns and one beam turret at the rear I think I did well there too.

Another thing to note is that I did start making this in MLCad using the LDraw parts library. I also posted progress pictures here on this blog:

Right up next is the AP38 Fighter Plane:

For a while I wanted to build a aeroplane like the de Havilland Mosquito and this was my attempt at something similar. As you can see it is a twin engined propeller fighter with retractable landing gear, opening bomb bay doors and working Ailerons.

The second oldest LEGO aeroplane I've made that I have pictures of, the oldest being my AP17 Aries which is in part 2 of this series of blog posts.

And that raps up this post. There's still more of my older LEGO MOCs to come so stick around and you never know I may actually finish my current LEGO MOC...

A blast from the past, Some of my older MOCs, Part 2

Hello again. Time for some more older MOCs I've done. This next one you may have heard of before as it was part of the inspiration for my AP17X Super Aries.

(you can find that here: http://apemaxslegomocs.blogspot.co.uk/2011/07/moc-ap17x-super-aries.html)

Here it is, my AP17 Aries:

Sorry about the poor quality photo, I was using a camera on a phone.

As you can see it is a VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) aircraft with both propeller and jet engines. The inspiration for this came from the PS3 game Resistance: Fall of Man. This was built after I played it. Some day I want to rebuild this but maybe a bit bigger and with proper colours.

More pictures on the MOCpages page here: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/131990

Next up is my first space ship collection.

This is a collection of small MOCs that I've made in a few minutes that didn't really warrant there own page. There's all sorts of influences here including Wipeout, R-Type, Star Wars, plus some stuff I just made up.

More pictures on the MOCpages page here: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/149921

And that's the end of another post. There's still plenty more MOCs to post so come back soon to see more of my older MOCs.

A blast from the past, Some of my older MOC's, Part 1

Hello everyone. Seeing as I haven't posted anything in a while I thought I'd have a bit of nostalgic moment and post some of my older MOC's that I made before starting this blog. Be aware that most of the pictures will be at least a bit blurry because I was using a camera on a phone.

So on to the first one which I think is the first LEGO model I took pictures of which is my AP5 Drag Racer:

This was one of the first vehicles I made that had working steering and rear suspension. This actually started out life as a kind of buggy. The rear section stayed the same but I added the long front to make it a dragster. Finally a link to the MOCpages page with more pictures: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/131417

Next up is my attempt at a Life size Helghast Assault Rifle from Killzone:

The only life size gun I built in LEGO that I took photos of (mainly because the others weren't very good). This has a couple of features I'm quite proud of first being the ability to load LEGO shotgun shells the same way it actually works in the first Killzone game. It's a shame they got rid of the secondary fire from the guns in KZ 2 and 3 but that's getting a bit of topic.

The second feature is you can actually reload the ammo magazine (Or cylinder, or can, or whatever it's called) the same way it works in the game. Finally a link to the MOCpages page with more pictures: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/131422

Right I think I'll stop there so this post doesn't get to long. Will continue posting these in parts until i run out of older MOCs to do. Hopefully I'll have some new LEGO MOCs to show you soon...

MOC: Second Chassis Experiment

Hello all. This is my second chassis experiment. I made this mainly to try and make live axles on both the front and the back which went fairly well. I also tried to do return-to-center steering which didn't go very well. Doesn't work overly well but for a first attempt i don't think it's to bad.  Also this is the first time I made a pair of seats from scratch instead of just using the ones from my 8437 Future Car.

A few of the problems with this model: the springs for the suspension are too soft and i don't have any harder springs so hence i used them, I don't think the drive train would be strong enough if there was a whole body on it and finally i ran out of pieces. hence I only made the front cabin.

As usual it's powered by a XL motor for drive, a M motor for the steering and it has the IR receiver and battery box. It also has a V12 engine and a front fan to cool the engine down. (Doesn't really need it, Just thought it would be cool.  ) I also had to nick the steering wheel from my 8110 Unimog as i don't have any spare ones. The tyres however i didn't take from my Unimog, i managed to get a spare set of 4 of them so now i have 8 Unimog tyres.  On with the pictures:

And thats it. Hope you like it.

MOC: AP28 MGS

Hello all. I post today a quick model that i built in about a week. It is inspired by the M1128 Mobile Gun System. It has six wheels four of which steer. It also has a movable gun turret. On with the pictures:

and a video of it's functions:

And thats it. I hope you like it.

MOC: Racing Truck

Hello everyone. This is my latest MOC, A Racing Truck. It uses 1 PF XL motor for drive, 1 PF M motor for the steering and 1 battery box and 1 IR receiver. It has a working hood, working doors and a fake 4 cylinder engine with super charger. The suspension it uses is similar to the 8110 Unimog but they won't move like pendular suspension. They just go up and down. I only have one U-Joint so i had to improvise with the front suspension/steering. On with the pictures:

And a video of it:

And thats it. Hope you liked it.
